The world watches America
we all wait to see
if the hatred bred by the racist
gels with misogyny

we watch the violence on the street
the guns used in schools
the blaming of the media
and the misdirection of the fools

the cosying up to dictators
that America should condemn
the arms deals the corruption
the hateful rallies and mayhem

the world watches in disbelief
the old can still remember
and so the world watches
for some sanity in November
