over thirty one thousand slave ships

with their heinous cargo they plied

with numbers of slaves left in America

there must have been millions that died

the treatment of them was biblical

compassion was never applied





brutal killing was unconscionably common

and still goes on to this day

the stain on the conscience of Europe

never quite went away

and the arrogance of one race over others

still denies justice a say
