where are they

where are they now
those politically aware
that storm the barricades
and marched in Tianamen square

that demanded their rights
and voting parity
that demanded fair taxation
and gender equality

where are those so colour blind
that see a person not just skin
that except love between all people
not some shame to keep locked in

where are those tolerant folk
that think religions bring only grief
but think the soul is wonderful
and it's right to have belief

in hiding or have gone to ground
it's not safe to be informing
they will face their fate in silence
ill prepared for global warming
