in the waiting room

The physicians journey of which you dread
When seeking for a cure
He tries to keep you from being dead
Though sometimes I’m not quite sure!
In the waiting room festoon
The magazines so rich
To read until the afternoon
The waiting you’ll not bitch
.
Collection boxes for the poor
Show you are better done
Reading what the coil is for
The fitting seems no fun
Cystitis posters on the wall
The itch, some hints about
Abstinence, no sex at all
Puritanical cure no doubt
.
Other patients white as death
In loud Coughing audition
Asthmatic children hold their breath
With a queue jumping petition
Sitting there in health perceived
Becoming quite a cynic
A doctor’s time waster all believed
At your first well man clinic
